Sub-Saharan Africa

Because of the extremely difficult conditions in much of sub-Saharan Africa, TESOL jobs are rare. Possible positions will most likely require candidates with substantial TESOL experience.

If a sense of adventure and/or altruism motivates you, there are English teaching opportunities with a number of aid organizations operating in the region. Two of the largest are:
The Peace Corps (http://www.peacecorps.gov)
Voluntary Service Overseas (http://www.vso.org.uk)
