Course Aims: This specialty course is concerned with main theories and strategies in the teaching of English for Specific Purposes. Taking mainstream learning theory and practice as a starting point the needs of students of Business English are pin-pointed and strategies developed that are specific to the learning contexts ESP deals with. At course completion successful candidates are awarded the internationally-recognized Certificate in Teaching English for Business. This qualification is an ideal complement to an initial TESOL or TEFL qualification or on its own for those only interested in specializing in the teaching of English for Specific Purposes. Entry requirements: Candidates need to be at least 18 years old. No previous teaching experience or qualifications are required. To be accepted on the course candidates need to be proficient in the understanding and use of the English language. The course is open to both native and non-native English language speakers. Course length: The average number of hours course participants tend to employ before completing the course ranges between 50 and 60. This can vary from one individual to the next as no two people learn at the same pace or in the same way. Generally course participants take between two and six weeks to complete the course successfully.
