Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Course Aims:

Taking modern communicative methodologies as its framework this high-level course aims to provide an in-depth coverage of learning theory, methodology and its implications for classroom practice. A sound course for those teachers who are already experienced and wish to further their professional development and aspire to positions of higher responsibility in education.

At course completion successful candidates are awarded the internationally-recognized Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, a high-level qualification.

Entry requirements:

Candidates need to be at least 18 years old and practising teachers with at least 1-2 years' relevant experience. To be accepted on the course candidates need to be proficient in the understanding and use of the English language. The course is open to both native and non-native English language speakers.

Course length:

The average number of hours course participants tend to employ before completing the course ranges between 300 and 350. This can vary from one individual to the next as no two people learn at the same pace or in the same way. Generally course participants take between six and eight months to complete the course successfully.
